Teachers' Salaries To Be Raised As Of 1 September 2013 In Hungary

The Government has decided to raise the salaries of Hungarian teachers from September 1 this year, Minister for Human Resources Zoltán Balog announced at a congress of the Teachers’ Trade Union (PSZ).
The pay rise is made possible thanks to the introduction of the career model for teachers, the Minister added. Teachers are likely to receive 50 percent of the pay rise in September, with the remainder arriving in January 2014. The pay rise will be calculated on an individual basis, dependent on qualification and the time spent in the profession, he said.
