Xpat Event Report: Smiling Hospital Foundation's Silent Auction
The Smiling Hospital Foundation (SHF) conducted a silent auction with posters from professional painters on display, in Vaci 1 Shopping Center. The foundation has been visiting Hungarian hospitals since 2004, putting smiles onto sick children’s faces. In 2011, the mural-painting projects began, where volunteers of supportive companies and SHF started painting the children’s wards of hospitals in Hungary.

This event though was not so much in silence, as there was an introductory speech from Dr. Albert Royaards, President of the Board of Trustees and a talk from the Project Manager Chris Daniels.

Then the guests wondered around to see which pieces took their fancy, with wine and nibbles on hand to smooth the process, courtesy of Borplusz. Also a big ‘thank you’ to other sponsors, such as the Orco Property Group, the Szamos Gourmet Haz and Basic Collection.

Then later on, artists (face painters, magicians) of the Foundation were waiting for the attendees with children’s programs, with more fun to be had, which put a smile on everyone’s face.
