Robber Receives Millions In Compensation

Gyõr Court on Wednesday awarded Ft 2,100,000 in compensation to Péter Süveges in his petition against the Sopronkõhida prison of the National Corrections Institute. Süveges came to be known as the first defendant in the Tesco robbers case.
Süveges won the lawsuit due to violations of his right to freedom from torture, inhumane and humiliating treatment. The court also ruled that the prison must officially apologise to the prisoner in writing.
