Entitled Just Call Me God, it explores the nature of despotic rule. Goran Bregović and his orchestra will perform his new work Three Letters From Sarajevo inspired by the multiculturalism of his native Sarajevo, a city of several religions.
The 150th anniversary of the Austro-Hungarian Compromise will be marked by a joint Austrian- Hungarian performance of Franz Liszt’s monumental Coronation Mass and a performance by the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble.
The highlight programme marking the 50th anniversary of Zoltán Kodály’s death will be the performance of his enigmatic folk opera Háry János which will close the Spring Festival. The festival will run from March 31 until April 23.
