State Support For New Ski Resorts
The state is providing Ft 150 million each for the development of ski resorts in Eplény, Veszprém county and Mátraszentistván, Heves county, government commissioner for the promotion of active relaxation Máriusz Révész announced on Wednesday.

In Hungary, 550,000 persons ski, which is why the government considers the development of the most frequented slopes important, he added.

Ski resort operators have already invested over Ft 2 billion in Eplény and Ft 1.2 billion in Mátraszentistván, Révész highlighted.

The total length of ski trails will reach 7.5km in Eplény, said CEO Bálint Ebele of resort operator Síarén. The ski lift also runs during the summer, taking tourists to the top of the hill, where there is a viewpoint and a playground for children, he added.
