New Stretch of Hungary's M44 Expressway Inaugurated
A more than 30km stretch of the M44 expressway, between the M5 motorway and Szentkirály (C Hungary), was inaugurated.

Sandor Lezsak, a local MP and the deputy speaker of parliament, said the construction of the 125km-long M44, which connects Bekescsaba (SE Hungary) with the capital, had been built in nine years at a cost of close to HUF 534bn.

The latest stretch was completed for gross HUF 185bn by Hodut Epito.

The development was undertaken with central budget funding by the Construction and Transportation Ministry.
