OTP Hit by Large-Scale Cyberattack in Hungary
OTP bank experienced a large-scale denial-of-service attack on Thursday, disrupting access to its digital banking platforms, the lender announced.

The bank described the cyberattack as extraordinary even by international standards, but said only the availability of its online services was affected.

OTP said it was working with authorities and partners to mitigate the impact.

Users reported intermittent outages throughout the day on OTP’s mobile app and online banking website.

The incident followed similar disruptions on Wednesday, when customers reported issues at ATMs and on digital platforms, prompting the bank to confirm a nationwide technical failure that has since been resolved.
