Budapest Home Prices Affordable in Regional Comparison

Home prices in Budapest stand a little over HUF 1 million/square metre, well under prices in Prague, where homes go for the equivalent of HUF 2.2m/sqm, ingatlan.com said citing data from local statistics offices and national banks.
In Warsaw, home prices average HUF 1.5m/sqm, and they are close to HUF 1.4m/sqm in Bratislava. Bucharest is the cheapest capital for home prices: there buyers pay HUF 850,000/sqm.
The data show Hungarians earning the average wage need to work 7.7 years to buy a 50sqm flat in the capital.
In Prague, locals need to work 11.7 years to buy the same home. In Warsaw, the period is close to ten years, and in Bratislava, it is under nine. In Bucharest, locals need to work 6.5 years to save enough for a 50sqm home.
Number of Hungarian homes with solar panels climbs over 300,000
The number of homes in Hungary with solar panels connected to the grid has reached 300,562, the Energy Ministry said in a post on social media.
The installed capacity of those homes stands at 2,733 MW, over one-third of Hungary's total solar capacity, the ministry said.
Solar accounted for one-fourth of Hungary's electricity generation last year, the highest rate in the world.
