Teens Can Be Liable For Death Threats In Hungary
Issuing a threat to murder someone by text or online may be punishable by up to five years in prison, according to a recent ruling by a five-member advisory council for the Kúria on criminal matters.

A conviction for this crime no longer requires proof that the person issuing the threat was commissioned by somebody else.

Children aged 14 or over can be held responsible for committing the crime.

For some major crimes such as homicide, the age of punishability is 12 years but it must be examined whether the culprit understood the possible consequences of his or her conduct.
