Crackdown On Budapest Party Zone Coming
The new leadership of Budapest’s Seventh District is preparing a crackdown on the party zone – the cluster of restaurants, clubs and bars popular with tourists and young Hungarians but not local residents.

A working group has approved a package of proposals that includes forcing most bars to close at midnight, with exceptions only for those that meet tough conditions.

Even the latter would have to renew their license every year, said deputy mayor Mónika Újvári-Kövér, the head of the working group.
