Over HUF 5 Billion of Untaxed Cigarettes Impounded in Hungary
Tax and Customs Office (NAV) agents impounded 2.8 million packs of cigarettes without seal tags at a pier in Tolna county and in a Pest county warehouse, whose trade value exceeds Ft 5.3 billion, it was announced on Wednesday.

Spokesman Imre Drabos said that the illegal sale of such a quantity of cigarettes would deprive the budget of Ft 3.8 billion in taxes.

An investigation was launched on suspicion of budget fraud and money laundering.

Four people are in detention following this haul of unprecedented value in Hungary.
