Vacation homes along the southern shore of the “Hungarian sea”, central Europe’s largest freshwater lake, are now listed for 1,043,000 forints (EUR 2,654) per square metre, on average, up from 570,000 forints in the spring of 2020.

Along the lake’s northern shore, properties are listed for 863,000 forints per square metre, up from 560,000 forints two years earlier.

The prices in prime locations, such as the Tihany Peninsula are as high as 1,800,000 forints per square metre.
