Household Demand for Solar Cells Soars in Hungary
The number of enquires for purchasing household solar systems was 25-80 times higher than normal levels last week, according to CEO Gábor Belák of solar system installer NV Solar.

He said it is not uncommon to have waiting periods of months for the delivery of some elements of the system, as suppliers can only currently provide six to eight units for every order of 50-80 units.

People are no longer deterred by the large financial investment in these systems, due to the news of huge utility bill rises, said Belák.

Many households are aiming at disconnecting from the electricity and gas grids “as much as possible”, he added.

The proportion of customers relying on state subsidies has fallen, as almost half of the new orders are self-financed.

Belák said the number of interested people at sales points is 60-80 times greater than in the past, creating so much pressure at some companies that staff are leaving.
