Largest Hotel in Hungary Closes Due to High Costs
The Danubius Hotel Hungaria, the largest hotel in the country, will be temporarily closed from November 1 until February 28, 2023, it was announced.

Based on present occupancy forecast, it would be difficult to operate the 499-room hotel near Keleti train station efficiently in the winter season, Danubius Hotels said.

Guests with existing bookings have been informed, and will be redirected to other Danubius Hotels in Budapest.

“Danubius Hotels is still aiming to ensure that most of our hotels operate efficiently, so that we can provide work for all our employees, if possible, even in the coming period, which is an economically more difficult and less busy period,” said CEO Balázs Kovács.

All Danubius Hotel Hungaria employees will be retained, he promised.
