Thieves Confess to Stealing Brass From Great Church in Hungary
Two men who vandalised the Great Church in Debrecen in February have been formally charged with theft, Hajdú county police announced on Wednesday.

A 50-year-old man and his 32-year-old accomplice stole copper windowsills from the building of the Great Church on the night of February 9.

The older man prised open three window-sills with a pair of pliers, damaging several others, while the younger man kept a lookout for police.

They sold the windowsills at a local junk shop on the following day.

The older man was detained by a police patrol on February 13, one day before his partner was arrested. Both suspects confessed to the crime.

Police retrieved the brass windowsills from the junk shop.
