Hungary Cracks Down on Soaring Bank Fees
Bank account charges have been rising significantly with no justification, so, if necessary, the government will take action in this area, Economy Minister Márton wrote in a Facebook post.

The MNB announced last week that banking has become much more expensive, as the price of market services was up by 9.6% in January, much higher than overall inflation.

Portfolio adds that this is in large part because many banks passed on the increase in transaction fees to their clients from the beginning of January.
