Body Pulled from Danube, 2 Others Missing Amid Heat Wave in Hungary
Three people went missing in the Danube on Saturday, with one body recovered and two still unaccounted for amid the ongoing heat wave, the Budapest police force BRFK said on Facebook.

A young man who drowned near Ivancsa, in central Hungary, was found by water police, but attempts to revive him failed.

Authorities are still searching for a man who disappeared near the Kopaszi Dam in Budapest's 11th district and a 26-year-old who went under while swimming near Baja, in the south.

Some had gone for a swim, others waded in and one entered the river to retrieve a ball, police said.

With temperatures hitting 38 degrees Celsius and even hotter days ahead, many are flocking to riverbanks to cool off, BRFK said, warning the public against entering the water in unfamiliar river sections, unmarked swimming areas or disused quarries.

River currents can sweep swimmers away in seconds, putting even confident swimmers at risk, the police warned.
