Since opening in April, the exhibition has attracted more than 50,000 visitors, highlighting the enduring fascination that Italy's landscapes, culture and artistic heritage continue to hold for culture lovers.

Bringing together around 150 works by 75 artists, the exhibition spans the 19th century to the present day. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints and archaeological artefacts reveal how generations of Hungarian artists have drawn inspiration from Italy's scenery, architecture, history and distinctive way of life.

The exhibition also offers a varied programme of accompanying events throughout August. These include themed guided tours, family activities and literary programmes inspired by writers with strong connections to Italy. 

Among the highlights are family tours on 11 and 13 August, a walk in the footsteps of celebrated Hungarian author Antal Szerb on 19 August, and a special literature and art-themed guided tour led by literary historian Anna Juhász on 25 August.
 

Additionally, visitors can take advantage of the extended opening period to see "The Longed-for Masterpiece: The Art of Béla Gruber (1936–1963)", which has likewise been extended until 30 August.

This exhibition celebrates the remarkable legacy of the gifted Hungarian painter, who produced more than a thousand works before his untimely death at the age of just 27.
