The show features the images that were awarded the Grand Prize of the Association of Hungarian Journalists and the Andre Kertesz Grand Prize, the top three entries in each of the 16 categories, as well as special prize-winning photographs and dozens of other images on various themes.

At the opening, Orsolya Korosi, the centre’s managing director, emphasised the growing importance of photojournalists' work. "A photojournalist not only takes pictures but is present, bears witness, selects and interprets, while personally guaranteeing that what they show is close to reality," she said.

A total of 258 photojournalists submitted 2,355 entries, comprising 6,196 photographs, for the competition.
