More than 2,100 events will be held at around 200 institutions in more than 60 towns across Hungary, covering subjects ranging from artificial intelligence and robotics to energy and cultural traditions.

The programme includes lectures, demonstrations, workshops and interactive activities aimed at both science enthusiasts and those simply curious about how research shapes everyday life.

At Ericsson Hungary’s R&D centre in Budapest, almost 60 activities will explore topics including 6G networks, satellite communications, robotics and artificial intelligence. Visitors can also discover the researchers’ interests outside their professional work.

Other programmes cover a broad range of subjects. Eötvös Loránd University will host a lecture examining the roots of climate change denial, while the University of Debrecen will present a musical fashion show exploring Roma women’s culture.

Visitors can also learn about geothermal energy in Békéscsaba, motion tracking and EEG in Budapest, as well as hydrogen technology, crystals and other areas of scientific research.

Béla Kardon, scientific director of the RCISD Regional Knowledge Centre and central organiser of Researchers’ Night, said the event would give visitors the chance to discover science at universities, research centres and other institutions across the country.

The programme is designed to make science and innovation more accessible, with activities for different ages and interests. Researchers’ Night provides an opportunity to meet scientists, see demonstrations and gain a closer look at research taking place in Hungary.
