Tammy started her career at Hays in 2002, initially based in the Czech Republic concentrating on Accountancy and Finance recruitment. She was then involved in opening up Hays Hungary, along with being the Business Development Manager for the CEE region, which included Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

The next major step in Tammy’s career with Hays was taking over the operational responsibilities at the opening up of Hays Russia.

She is currently based in Hungary and is responsible for the executive management of the expanding branch, which is specialised in recruiting experts in ten main specialist sectors, namely, Accountancy and Finance, Business Services, Construction and Property, Engineering, Hotels and Leisure, Information Technology, Life Sciences, Logistics, Retail, and Sales and Marketing.

Tammy obtained a professional degree in Accountancy, and has been an FCCA since 2007. Born in Canada and raised in Malta, Tammy is a native speaker of English and Maltese, speaks fluent Italian, some Czech, and is currently studying Hungarian.
 

1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
5 years ago; initially came to Hungary for work

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
Yes, I lived in Prague, Czech Republic for 6 years, also lived several times in Toronto, Canada and have spent a lot of time in Moscow, Russia

3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
The weather climate – it can change so quickly!

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
Definitely a trip to the Castle in the evening to see it all lit up followed by a walk along the Danube, and a drive to Balaton for lunch overlooking the lake.

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
Liba Máj (goose liver)

6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Milk, bacon and eggs.

7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?
Fürdőszoba (bathroom!)

8. What do you miss the most from home?
Family, friends and the sea

9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
I already did a career change 11 years ago from Finance to Recruitment - I am satisfied with my decision

10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
A taxi driver or a routine job.

11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
Balaton

12. Where do you hope to spend your next one?
Will be spending it in Malta.

13. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
Grease – watched it so many times!

14. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?
My daughter - she is too cute!

White wine

16. Book or movie?
Both...depending on time

17. Morning person or night person?
A night person

18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
Domestic violence and child abuse

19. Buda side or Pest side?
Prefer Buda side

Nothing is impossible
