Easter Sunday and Easter Monday are both public holidays in Hungary, and are packed with fun and feasts for all the family. Húsvét, in Hungarian, has many local customs: Egg painting is one of the most popular, and oldest traditions, along with Easter Sunday fun when the Easter bunny brings presents for children, which they find during the Easter egg hunt.

Budapest’s City Park will host Europe’s largest fish festival at Vajdahunyad Castle between 19 and 22 February. The event, held for the third time this year, will offer over 100 fish delicacies, a cooking competition, entertainment for children and musical programmes.
