Government-mandated price cuts have made the cost to Hungarian households of gas and electricity among the lowest in the European Union, fresh data published by Eurostat show. Household gas prices averaged 4.2 euros per 100kWh in the second half of 2013, the second-lowest rate in the EU after Romania. Household electricity prices were 13.3 euros per kWh during the period.
