Families With Children Spend More on Communications Services in Hungary

While the average Hungarian household spends approximately HUF 24,000 per month on communications, data from the NMHH shows that families with children incur an additional HUF 3,400 in monthly expenses per child.
This is largely because such households subscribe to more services, including television and streaming platforms.
Traditional television remains widespread in Hungary, with 90% of households subscribed; among families with children, that figure is nearly 100%.
The contrast is even more pronounced in streaming usage: only 18% of childless households use streaming services, compared to 39% of those with one child and 69% among those with two or more.
Netflix is the most popular streaming service for families, while Disney+ also attracts substantial viewership due to its broader content offering.
