70,000 Hungarian households will see major changes in cable television programming after January 1. Seven channels, including HirTV, will be eliminated by a cable service provider operating in 170 settlements in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Veszprém and Vas counties, and replaced by 6 channels owned by media and casino magnate Andrew Vajna, in addition to two porn channels, reports HirTV.

Analogue television broadcasts will be permanently switched off in 14 counties in central Hungary at 12.30 today, Magyar Hírlap reports. The broadcasts will cease throughout the whole country from November 1, to be replaced by digital services.
