The General Assembly of Budapest approved the modification of smog regulation; as a result, much more vehicles can be banned during smog alert from the middle of March, announced Mayor István Tarlós. He added that the previous vignette system was terminated and now vehicles are ranked into environmental categories based on codes.

A local court in northern Serbia’s Vojvodina has banned the operations of an office for István Szávay, deputy leader of the Hungarian radical nationalist Jobbik party, in the town of Senta (Zenta). Szávay told MTI that the court has fined him 10,000 dinars and called for closing down the office, citing Serbian law under which political activities by foreign parties are illegal.
