The Benkó Dixieland Band (founded: 1957) is one of the best jazz formations in the world and certainly the most popular in Hungary. Their international career took off in the 1960s when they started playing in neighbouring countries before they went on to conquer the whole world, and today they are termed the roving ambassadors of Hungarian and New Orleans jazz.

Jerry Bergonzi’s career started in the late 70’s with one of the most-in-demand formations of those days, the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
