For the first time in several decades, Hungarian works of art, ones by Tibor Hajas and Attila Csörgő, will feature at the central exhibition of the Venice Biennale, starting on May 13, organisers told a press briefing on Tuesday. The Hungarian pavilion will host the work of Gyula Várnai, curated by Zsolt Petrányi, titled “Peace on Earth!”, state secretary for culture Péter Hoppál said.

The satirical Kétfarkú Kutya (Two-tailed Dog) party staged a “March of Peace for the government and Russia... and against everything else” in central Budapest on Saturday. Participants in the demo walked across the Inner City behind a banner of the Russian national colours that read “We will not be a colony” in Hungarian and Russian.
“We Will Not Be Silent!” Demonstration Draws Thousands Of Young Protesters

Budapest’s Szabadság (Freedom) square hosted a novel demonstration of sorts Saturday evening. Starting at 5:30 pm and lasting until 10 pm, the “We will not remain silent!” protest featured musical performances by a variety of musicians and DJs, as well as speeches by notable artists and activists. As many as 10,000 people mostly in their twenties and thirties attended.
