Teacher Wages To Rise 3.5% In 2016

Teachers’ wages will rise by 3.5% in September this year based on the teacher career model, László Palkovics, the public education state secretary, said. The wage increase means teachers will receive between 3,000 forints (EUR 10) and 15,000 (EUR 48) forints more each month depending on seniority, Palkovics said, noting that the government has continuously increased teacher’s wages since 2013.
Union: New School Year ‘Won’t Be Smooth’

The head of the PSZ teachers’ trade union has warned that the new school year “will not be smooth”. Piroska Galló said government communications suggesting all the right conditions were in place for schools to start the year successfully were misleading.
