Organisers say the 'finest Hungarian gastronomic festival' will cross borders and host some of the best restaurants and chefs in the Central European region. Ana Roš from Slovenia, the world's best female chef, is just one example. This year at this annual fest the main focus will be on the indigenous Mangalica pig, as well as strawberries.

As suggested by its name, the primary focus of the event is wine (as in vin) exhibited in Central Europe (CE). 160 exhibitors are scheduled to take part in the event with exhibitors coming from Hungary and the neighboring countries but some winemakers from outside the region will also offer their bottles for tasting between 17 - 19 March in Corinthia Hotel Budapest.

Street food and 'Carnival Dishes' will also feature at Budapest's 1st Doughnut Festival. Mulled wine is a beverage of European origins usually made with red wine along with various mulling spices and sometimes raisins. It is served hot or warm and is alcoholic, although there are non-alcoholic versions of mulled wine. It is a traditional drink during winter so you are welcome to try it on Friday, 13 January near Allee Shopping Center between 13 - 15 January from 12:00 to 22:00.
