With 2014 approaching, the beginning of Holocaust Memorial Year in Hungary is also imminent. The year-long commemorative event aims to reach out to the widest possible range of Hungarian society and to help the public understand, remember and mend the scars of one of the greatest traumas of Hungarian history.

Gábor Czene of Népszabadság conducted an interview with Tamás Fabiny, bishop of the northern district of the Hungarian Lutheran Church. Fabiny was ordained in Erlangen, Germany in 1982. He also studied in the United States. In addition to his church activities he worked for Duna TV. Since 2010 he has been the vice chairman of the Lutheran World Federation.

It was planned by Eric Milner-White, who at the age of thirty-four had just been appointed Dean of King's College, after experience as an army chaplain which had convinced him that the Church of England needed more imaginative worship.
