Haydn: The Seasons, National Concert Hall Budapest, 1 January
Always an eagerly awaited event, Müpa Budapest’s next New Year’s concert, ringing in 2025, promises to be especially so. Ádám Fischer, the permanent conductor of the annual event, will take the podium to present Haydn’s The Seasons, which is heard much less frequently at Müpa Budapest than the composer’s other great oratorio, The Creation.

Appearing as special guests this time will be the legendary workshop of historically informed performance Concentus Musicus Wien, Nikolaus Harnoncourt’s former ensemble.

The members of the Hungarian Radio Choir are seasoned interpreters of the work, and it would be safe to say that the international cast of soloists – Emőke Baráth, David Fischer and Miklós Sebestyén – are accustomed to working with each other, having sung The Creation together at Müpa Budapest’s 2021 New Year’s concert.
Place: National Concert Hall
Address: 1095 Budapest, Komor Marcell utca 1
