Poll Gives Fidesz Vast Majority Of Seats In Hungarian Parliament
"Fidesz stands a very good chance of obtaining a two-thirds parliamentary majority at the April elections, according to the latest survey by Nezopont Institute for the conservative weekly Heti Valasz.

The survey suggests that the party could obtain 281 seats, the Socialists 44, Jobbik 43 and Politics Can Be Different (LMP) 18.

Fidesz has the support of 62% of decided party voters, the Socialists 15% and Jobbik 14%. LMP has 9% and the Democratic Forum 4%.

LMP and the Forum have about 300,000 decided voters, with a further 300-400,000 potential voters. The Socialists have 800,000 voters. Fidesz has over 3.5 million, of whom 400,000 would cast their second ballot for Jobbik.

Most respondents, 77%, expect a Fidesz victory, 3% a Jobbik win and only 2% anticipate a Socialist triumph.

Fidesz leader Viktor Orban is the preferred prime ministerial candidate of 49% of respondents, far ahead of Forum candidate Lajos Bokros at 11%, Socialist Attila Mesterhazy 10% and Jobbik’s Gabor Vona at 5%.

On another question, 81% of respondents oppose the return of former prime minister Ferenc Gyurcsany."
