Mészáros Group Responds to Message of Incoming PM in Hungary
The Meszaros Group has responded to a video message posted on social media by Peter Magyar, the incoming prime minister, on Saturday.

In the post, Magyar said he had learnt that "Orban-linked oligarchs" were transferring "tens of billions of forints to the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Uruguay, and other distant countries".

"I have also been informed that several oligarch families have already left the country, and that the Meszaros family is expected to travel to Dubai in the coming days,"
 he added.

In its statement issued on Monday, the Meszaros Group said "ambiguous" public statements were "creating uncertainty" among the company's close to 60,000 employees regarding their future.

The group added that owner Lorinc Meszaros had contacted the incoming prime minister in a letter seeking to clarify the situation and resolve tensions.

The details of the letter were not revealed in the statement.

Meszaros Group also said the owners of TV2 had no plans to sell the commercial broadcaster "at either market or depressed prices".

In his video message, Magyar had said he was "aware that Orban-linked oligarchs have begun selling TV2 and other media outlets at below-market prices".

"I call on responsible domestic and international investors to refrain from acquiring assets linked to the mafia; otherwise, they may find themselves facing the National Office for Asset Recovery and Protection," Magyar said in the message.
