Accident Insight: Road Deaths in Hungary Above EU Average
The number of people killed in road accidents in Hungary reached 52 per million inhabitants in 2024, over the 44 average for the European Union as a whole, data compiled by Eurostat show.

The number of road accident fatalities per million inhabitants stood at 48 in Slovakia and 45 in Czechia.

The number was 52 in Poland and 78 - the highest rate in the EU - in Romania.

Sweden had the lowest rate of road fatalities: 20 per million inhabitants.
