"The southern Hungarian metropolis is a mix of various cultures. Pécs was conquered by the Turks in the late 1500s and they ruled the city for 150 years. Thus, in the main square you see a huge mosque which today houses a Catholic church.
Another mosque in the city actually is a place of worship for the city's tiny Muslim population. The city also has a German past as thousands of Swabians settled there in the 1800s."
