A parody version “expressing affection, loyalty and gratitude toward the Person who Embodies the System of National Co-operation” was submitted by Socialist Party chairwoman Ildikó Lendvai, caucus leader Attila Mesterházy, former prime minister Ferenc Gyurcsány and erstwhile PMO leader Csaba Molnár. They also ironically proposed that a photo of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán be put on display in all public buildings.

Jobbik MP Gábor Ferenczi suggested that the statement could be printed on the back of leftover photos of Lenin to save time and money.

Politics Can Be Different (LMP) caucus leader András Schiffer said putting political statements on display in public buildings could cause constitutional problems.

Public Administration and Justice Minister Tibor Navracsics defended the statement, saying “a piece of paper cannot be dangerous” and that “the statement reflects a set of values that is acceptable to all Hungarians”.

Meanwhile president-elect and Speaker Pál Schmitt gave an order that the statement be hung in parliament and the MPs office building. The statement will be hung in the meeting room on the office’s ground floor.

Schmitt told MTI that he will hold consultations with several people on where to place the statement “in view of its special character and giant size”.
