Jews And Carpets', Hungarian Jewish Museum, Shown Until 31 July
"The newest exhibition of the Hungarian Jewish Museum is an outstanding exhibition in many aspects. It is not only an applied arts exhibition, but also a comprehensive exhibition about cultural history and offers essential experiences.

The aim of the First Carpet Association of Budapest, which was founded in 2007, and the Jewish Museum is to present carpets from the most important regions of carpet-making, and to contradict the popular belief that carpet art can only exist in the world of Islam.

At the exhibition visitors can see a special selection of the Hungarian Jewish Museum’s textile collection, which is famous all over Europe, as well as carpets from private collections, which are unique in the world.
Visitors can remember the childhood memories about the "flying carpet", which is an essential object of the tales of various regions.

We hope that, after visiting the exhibition, more and more people will re-discover the wonderful world of carpets, and the blooming carpet culture, which was so natural for the citizens before World War II, can revive.

The curators of the exhibition:

Rita Rusznák (Hungarian Jewish Museum),
Sándor Dénes, president (The First Carpet Association of Budapest)"
