Hungary's OVB Oks Pension Referendum Question
"The new national election committee (OVB) approved a referendum question from the chemical workers union on allowing a full pension after 40 years in work, even for those not yet of pensionable age.

The union can start collecting signatures two weeks from now; fifteen days after the OVB officially comes into being. The Constitutional Court will study the question and decide whether it can reach application stage.

It will be interesting to see the opinion of those constitutional judges who approved the questions of the “social referendum” two years ago, Népszabadság writes.

The Constitutional Court will probably reject the question because it affects the budget. To allow women this possibility was one of Fidesz’s few actual election campaign promises, the daily points out."
