Hungarian MICE Tourism Is Increasing

"The results of the first semester of 2010 give good reason to be optimistic: the number of participants at conferences is 76% more than a year ago and it even exceeds the 2008 figure by 18.8%, says the latest report of the Hungarian Convention Bureau.
Based on data received from partners, Hungary hosted 160 international conferences with 43,000 participants in the first six months of this year.
The average length was 4.3 days, with 269 participants. Almost 85% of guests arrived from abroad, mostly from Germany, the UK and France; the largest number of meetings was held in April (40).
Budapest topped the destinations list, followed by Pécs, Sopron and Balatonalmádi, Debrecen and Szeged; the ratio of the countryside locations grew by 3.2%. "
