On 20 November, on Potato Day, you can find out exciting facts and recipes about this so well-know vegetable.

In the organization of Family Gastro Days at the Agricultural Museum in Vajdahunyad Castle, the most popular agricultural plants of Hungary have been presented to the public in a very exciting, playful and particularly tangible way. Until now pumpkins, maize and different cereals were the main protagonists on three different occasions during the year, but on 20 November potato is in the focus.

The plant that came from the Americas became an indispensable part of our culture and our meals. This is the most important non-cereal plant in the world so it is not surprising that there are more than a thousand breeds worldwide, and there is an extensive scale of its utilization.

On Potato Day the visitors can have a stirring insight into old and new methods of cuisine and other unusual utilizations of this plant. In the gastro-corner, potato tidbits for the public - potato in massive quantities, fried, boiled, in soup or in bread!
