On this occasion Ambassador Knott said “It is my great pleasure and privilege to take up this assignment. I very much look forward to working with the Hungarian government and people and to build on the strong relationship which exists between our countries.

In particular I look forward to celebrating a very special year for the United Kingdom as we host the London Olympic and Paralympic Games and celebrate the Queen`s Diamond Jubilee. I hope these events will help Hungarian people to get to know the United Kingdom even better than they do now – just as I hope to get to know Hungary well during my posting here.”
