The theme of the competition, ’Inter cultural communication through the lens of camera’ having its meaning roots in the American saying „Melting pot”, challenges amateur and professional photographers to present the life of immigrant in Hungarian environment.

‘Perspectives’ project is looking for powerful photographs that demonstrate the communication of both the culture of an immigrant and Hungarian culture.

The first three winners will be awarded with valuable cash prizes of 100,000 HUF, 60,000 HUF, 40,000 HUF. In addition the perspective contest the winning photographs will be published in the November issue of Metropol, Budapest; the winner will be able to enter an international competition.

The deadline for the competition is 15 June, 2012. The entries will be judged by a panel of professionals, and the winners will be announced at www.perspectives.org on 30th of June.

Guidelines for participation in Photo Competition

Participants: This competition is open to amateurs and professionals in photography in the following category:

Photos in the following category can be submitted:

Inter cultural communication or photos based on the concept of American phrase “Melting Pot”.

Deadline:
All photos should be received prior to 15 June 2012. FTP addresses from which photos can be downloaded should be active and notified to perspektivak.org prior to 15 June 2012.

Prizes:
1st place – 100.000 HUF
2nd place – 60.000 HUF
3d place – 40.000 HUF

Submission: A company or photographer can submit several single photos. All photos supplied should be free of any logos, company names and legends on the photo.

Photos are to be supplied to perspektivak.org electronically. In addition, hardcopy photographic prints may be supplied. Electronic Photos - Submission & Designation all electronic photos should have a minimum size of 15x10 cm, should be supplied in JPEG format. Submissions can be, supplied on CD, posted on a FTP port for downloading by perspektivak.org, or emailed to perspektivak.org.

The electronic photo file names should be constructed as follows: abbreviated name of photographer (if applicable)(dash between first & family name) & name of the picture (e.g. Natalia_smith__immigrant_in_Hungary)

An E-mail form, indicating the following information for each photo, should also be supplied:
* Complete name of the photographer (if applicable);
* Name of the Photo
* This E-mail form should also indicate the complete postal address + telephone & fax numbers + email address of the point of contact with the submitting organization.

Selection Comittee: A selection committee will decide the winners in each category. It consists of editorial board of perspektivak.org.

Winners: The winners in each category will be announced on 30 June 2012, an electronic press release will announce the winners to the perspektivak.org and supply them with the FTP address from which the winning photos can be downloaded.

The winning photo in each category (with name of photographer, product designation) will be published:
* In November issue of metropol, Budapest ;
* Collectively on special award posters which will be posted on international website;
* As individually files & made available to the international press for downloading from perspektivak.org (30 June 2012);
* Collectively on an electronic poster, which will be made available for free downloading & printing on perspektivak.irg (30 June 2012);

Copyright: All photos submitted should be free of copyright. If the submitted photos have been previously published, a signed statement must be supplied by the submitting entity that no copyrights will be infringed by the use of such photos by perspektivak.org. Perspektivak.org shall have the right to publish any photo submitted for the contest in any printed, on-line, digital or electronic publication that it produces. All images contain herein are the property of the artist and the artist remains the sole copyright and all applicable rights to said images.
