The survey conducted in 2025 shows that 85pc of Hungarian households have access to some form of internet service, while just 8pc subscribe exclusively to mobile internet service.

NMHH noted that households spend, on average, HUF 5,700/month for home internet access, while they pay HUF 7,100/month for a mobile phone subscription with internet access.

While fixed-line internet subscriptions feature practically unlimited usage, just one-third of mobile internet packages offer unlimited domestic data traffic, and over one-third of mobile subscribers exceed data thresholds before the end of the billing period.

The survey shows 17pc of single-person households rely solely on mobile internet, while the ratio is just 1pc for households with three or more people.

Mobile-only internet users account for 16pc of all internet users in the lowest income quartile and just 3pc in the top quartile.
