A teller working in an unspecified bank on Budapest’s Nyugati tér thwarted an attempted robbery around noon on Tuesday. The clerk refused to hand over money when a man placed a piece of paper on the counter stating that he was armed and demanded cash.

The teller pressed an alarm button and continued talking to the would-be robber until police arrived.
