Xenophobia On The Rise In Hungary
The number of people who would refuse all asylum seekers to Hungary has increased by about 10% in the past five years according to a March poll, Tárki reported on Wednesday. Four out of ten adult Hungarians were seen as openly xenophobic versus 29-32% in the past. Among respondents only 49% would consider granting any asylum, down from 60% five years ago.

Xenophobia is higher than average among non-voters, those planning work abroad, those with lower schooling, the unemployed, those who accumulate debts in paying their utility bills, Central Transdanubian residents, Roma, and Jobbik voters.
