Police are asking prosecutors to press charges against property entrepreneur Péter Csipak, who is suspected of building part of his house without a permit on a nature conservation area in Buda. The National Bureau of Investigation said Csipak had occupied more than 2,300 square metres of a natural protection area.

Csipak is associated with the Fashion Street in downtown Budapest, and planned a “glass zeppelin” hotel project in the heart of downtown Pest.

He refused to make a statement. If convicted, he could be sentenced to a three-year prison term for damaging the environment.
