Orbán: Debate About Hungary Is A Debate About The Directions Of European Social Progress
Questions facing Europe are at the core of recent disputes about Hungary in European media and party politics, and Hungary is just a pretext for discussing those issues, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said Thursday in a lecture to the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin. The discourse on the new Hungarian constitution is not about its text or provisions but about “the directions of European social progress,” he observed.

Hungary will become successful if it is allowed to be, Orbán said.

In his lecture Orbán said Hungarian trends became European questions because the West, the EU and particularly the euro zone have ended up in a serious crisis since 2008 and are dithering.
