Works By Contemporary Hungarian Artists In Kosice, 2013 European Capital Of Culture
A new exhibition entitled „Creative Transgressions” has opened at the Béla Löffler Museum in Kosice, consisting of works from contemporary Hungarian artists. The city is the 2013 European Capital of Culture, with this exhibition being the first large-scale Hungarian event of the year.

„Creative Transgressions” presents works by ten artists who boldly cross boundaries between genres, techniques and themes in order to discover new possibilities from familiar approaches. The exhibition was organized by the Consulate General of Hungary in Kosice and co-financed by the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The city has played an important role in Hungarian history and a significant ethnic Hungarian community lives in the city and in neighbouring regions, said Consul General Éva Molnár. She announced that many other events will be organised by the Consulate General as part of the Kosice 2013 European Capital of Culture series in order to further encourage Hungarian-Slovak cooperation. Miskolc, a major city in north-eastern Hungary would contribute its own events to the festival, the city’s Mayor Ákos Kriza told the press.
