Klubrádió Court Battles In Hungary Reach An End
The Capital Court of Appeals on Thursday upheld a lower court ruling awarding the Budapest community frequency 92.9MHz to independent station Klubrádió, in a final ruling. Klubrádió won the frequency in April 2010, but the ORTT, the broadcast media regulator of the time, lost its quorum after the elections and no contract was concluded.

Its successor refused to honour the decision, and has been fighting Klubrádió’s efforts to gain legal recognition for the decision.

The Capital Court awarded the frequency to Klubrádió on November 14 but the Media Council challenged that ruling.

The situation is complicated by the fact that the media authority awarded the frequency at 95.3MHz to the station in the middle of March.
